Sunningdale Parish Council

GENERAL ELECTION HUSTINGS MEETING Thursday 30 April at 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Church, Sunningdale.  Your opportunity to meet the candidates for the Parliamentary elections on 7 May.

PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS.

Sunningdale Parish Council is a non-political Council dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living and working in the village.  Seven people have put their name forward, and this being less than the ten vacancies, the seven will be elected unopposed on 7 May.  The Council must then co-opt to fill the 3 remaining vacancies.

The Parish Council meets once a month to take decisions affecting all aspects of life in the Parish, establishing policies for action, and deciding how much will be raised and spent on behalf of the community. It is responsible for spending public money lawfully and achieving the best value for money.

There are rules on the eligibility of residents to stand for the public office of Councillor.  If you are interested please contact us or read more under Parish Council and Elections.

Community Garden We have had a “standard” winter, neither too cold, nor too wet, nor too mild. Early outdoor sowing and planting of hardy crops could do with slightly warmer daytime temperatures than we are experiencing at the beginning of March. We only have garlic planted so far, which actually went in during the autumn. Weather permitting, here are some possible spring jobs on your plot. posted 2 March 2015
