Nick Dawson. We are sorry to hear of the recent death of Nick Dawson after a short illness. Nick became a parish councillor in 2006 and was appointed vice-chairman of the council in the following year. He remained in that position until he retired from the council early in 2015. Nick’s working life was spent in the education field. He and his twin brother Tim acquired Sunningdale Preparatory School back in 1967 and ran it for 38 years.

The Lynwood Fete & Vintage Vehicle Rally 2016 will take place at Broomhall Recreation Ground on Saturday, June 25, 2016. The fete will open to the public at 12.30pm. The vintage and classic car rally will start at Ascot Racecourse, go through Windsor Great Park, and finish at the Rec. Entry to the fete is £2 per person, free for under 14s.

Parish Clerk. Anne Martin retired at the end of May. Anne has fulfilled the role of Parish Clerk since 2007, helping to complete many projects during her tenure. The council thanks her for all her hard work over the years, and it wishes her an enjoyable and fruitful retirement.
The successor to Anne is Ruth Davies. We all congratulate her on her appointment, and wish her every success in this challenging role.

Sayonara Luxton, one of the borough councillors for the Sunningdale Ward, has been appointed Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Maidenhead Town Hall on Tuesday, May 24. Sayonara has been a borough councillor since 2007, and she was deputy mayor of the borough last year.
