It’s not feeling like August at all as I write this!
I hope you managed to find a sunny 15 minutes for the Big butterfly count.
It’s useful to make a record of wildlife you spot in our area as we need to be able to point to what we have when we are at risk of losing it and in order to make suitable habitat improvements. iRecord is an excellent place to record sightings, including photos, online or via their App. If you need help with identification you can look at the resources on the website here or post your pictures on our Wildlife in Ascot Facebook Group.
The Wildlife Garden Awards scheme has been extended to the end of September. Please complete the self-assessment to find out what level your garden achieves. There is no requirement to attend an award ceremony or have your garden inspected. We would like to show that lots of people in our area care about supporting wildlife in their gardens. Please complete the form here: https://wildlifegardensawards.org/enter-the-awards/
Please get in touch if you live near Carnation Hall, Winkfield Row and can join the team looking after the newly planted pollinator patch there.
Here is a list of events coming up over the next month or so. It would be great to have more people involved so please come along and find out more.
