As a Lead Local Flood Authority, the Royal Borough has a duty to develop, maintain, apply and monitor a strategy for local flood risk management. We published the current Local Flood Risk Management Strategy in 2014, and since then there have been significant changes, driven by both national and local policy, as well as the growing threat of climate change. This means that an update is now required.

We have developed a new draft Local Flood Risk Management Strategy for the period 2026 to 2041, setting out a long-term vision for managing flood risk over the next 15 years. The draft strategy includes measures to ensure that its objectives and actions remain relevant throughout its lifespan.

We are now seeking views on this draft Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and invite residents and interested stakeholders to respond to this consultation.
