There are just two weeks left to share your views on Census 2031 topics.

What do you need from a census in an age of rapid societal and technological change?

You have until 4 February 2026 to help shape Census 2031 topics and a new ethnicity harmonised standard.

We are currently running a consultation where you can share how you use census data and your requirements for topic data from Census 2031. You can respond in English or in Welsh. 

Census topics have changed over time to capture the changing needs of society and allow for analysis of what matters most to communities and policymakers.  We need your evidence to support decisions about which topics should be included.

The Government Statistical Service (GSS) is also asking for views on  additional tick-box response options for ethnicity data across the UK. You can also respond to this consultation in English or in Welsh.

We encourage users of ethnicity data to complete both consultations.
