Broomhall Park Summer Survey

In August 2023 the Parish Council asked visitors of Broomhall Park a series of questions to gather data on who is visiting the park and suggestions for any changes.

The results are as follows:

  1. 35% of people travelled 2-5 miles to Broomhall Park, followed by 33% of people travelling less than a mile.
  2. 74% of people travelled to Broomhall Park by car.
  3. 29% of people visit Broomhall Park several times a year, 21% of people visit Broomhall Park several times a week.
  4. 79% of people surveyed had children aged 4-10 years visiting the park with them.
  5. 42% of people came to Broomhall Park because it is their local park, while 29% of people came due to a recommendation from friends or family.
  6. Suggestions of a splash pad and better parking facilities would be welcomed additions to Broomhall Park.

It has been discussed that a splash pad would be a great addition to Broomhall Park however having previously researched into the possibility, a splash pad often becomes faulty when you have a sand pit close by. Our sand pit is a hugely popular (all year round) piece of play equipment within the junior playground area.

Parking is something Sunningdale Parish Council has and continues to consider when creating a future vision for Broomhall Park. In the meantime in line with the council’s policy for cycling and walking we would encourage all visitors who are able to visit our park to leave their vehicles at home.

Thank you to all visitors of Broomhall Park who took the time to complete the survey. Sunningdale Parish Council will use the data when any future plans are being discussed for the park.
